A visit to Salisbury. Found the Methodist Church and had a cup of coffee. It was quite busy as two non-church organisations were meeting in the premises. A lovely church and they must have a fairly large congregation, morning and evening services every Sunday and an extra 8am Holy Communion once a month. However the main concern of the lady who served me the coffee was about the ageing of the congregation with very few younger ones coming in. Apparently the Methodist Church nearest to them had recently closed down, So very sad. I do believe the comment I heard last year — GOD HASN'T FINISHED WITH US YET — but what are we doing to ensure his church will remain?
I ended my days visit in the very impressive Salisbury Cathedral browsing in their shop and couldn't resist a fridge magnet with the words close to our hearts. My camera managed to capture it here -
A lovely day in Salisbury.
